XPACE marks a new chapter in innovation and collaboration in Singapore’s food industry

Week-long launches celebrate new beginnings for X-Inc, partners and tenants

Singapore – October 14, 2021 – The grand opening of the S$65 million XPACE (pronounced as “space”) building on September 30 marked a new chapter in Singapore’s food industry. It opens the door to new ways of collaboration and new levels of innovation in the local food ecosystem.

The culinary hub lets avid food dreamers co-work, co-create and co-lab with its wide range of facilities – from demo and commercial kitchens to presentation and event space.

“Our journey towards re-inventing the ecosystem has just begun. The opening of XPACE not only marks a new milestone in our corporate history, but is also the pivotal project that we needed to expand our business model,” said Nichol Ng, CEO of X-Inc Pte Ltd.

XPACE opening on September 30: Minister of Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong was the guest-of-honour in the first-of-its-kind hybrid opening. He followed Nichol Ng and Nicholas Ng, Co-CEOs of X-Inc Pte Ltd, virtually on a tour of the six-storey, 22,000-square metre building at 218 Pandan Loop

reXtore launch on October 4: reXtore is a social enterprise that supports the circular economy by delivering modular, adaptable and eco-friendly pop-up spaces in a sustainable and community-centric manner

Backyard Productions launch on October 5: FoodXervices Inc launched this co- operative to spur F&B establishments in Singapore to support local produce, such as the vegetables in the Singapore Salad (above), revolutionising the way food is eaten and grown in Singapore. XPACE Xupper Club launch on October 6: Managed by The Wok People, XPACE Xupper Club aims to bring to life the brighter cafeteria of tomorrow by deploying a wide range of cutting-edge technologies and experimenting with new dishes. Such technologies include using RFID plates for cashless checkouts.

“Our five days of launches showcased the innovation, creativity and values behind what we stand for as a company with strong environmental, social and governance

values in place. We have shown innovation in using technology for sustainability in many aspects of our projects. And more importantly, we have delivered on a promise of collaboration by showcasing such a wide array of partners from tech and security to new meats,” said Ng.
